“Sounds of Africa” Photography Exhibition by Michael Tubes (25.08.2015 – 30.08.2015)

Michael Tubes‘Sounds of Africa’ is a new photography exhibition curated and photographed by Michael Tubi aka Michael Tubes. Held at the Menier Gallery in London the exhibition will run from August 26th to 30th with a private view being held on Tuesday, 25th August at 6pm. The exhibition showcases the work of African artists who are taking contemporary African Music to the global stage.
With images of established and emerging contemporary performers including Angelique Kidjo, Seun Kuti, Salawa Abeni, Hugh Masekela, Fatoumata Diawara, 2face‘Sounds Of Africa’ aims to showcase the best that music from Africa has to offer. Styles such as Afrobeat, Hi-Life, Fuji, Tcha Echo  and Makosa  are all displayed in the works of photography, with Tubi hoping to open people up to greater understanding and appreciation for the different art forms.
Michael Tubi is a British born African Hertiage portrait and documentary photojournalist based in London. His artistic medium consists predominantly of photography, while also incorporating videography to express his artistic vision.

Tubi curated ‘Sounds Of Africa’ with the aim of bringing new audiences to experience the variety and richness of contemporary African Music.
“My hope for the exhibition is to promote a unique perspective of African music through popular and progressive African artists that embody the development ofthe continent.”
‘Sounds Of Africa’ will hold a private view on Tuesday 25th August from 6pm to 9pm at Menier Gallery, 51 Southwark Street, London, SE1 1RU.
The exhibition would be opened to the public from August 26th to August 28th, 11am to 6pm and on August 30th, 11am to 3pm.
