Member of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila was in a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at Aso Rock on Friday evening, July 24, 2015.
Gbajabiamila,
who is viewed as the preferred candidate of the APC hierarchy for
majority leader of the house of reps, met with the president for the
second time after his last meeting with him in early July 2015.
According
to reports by The Cable, while his first meeting had the attendance of
29 other lawmakers, Gbajabiamila's second meeting with Buhari was not a
'crowded' session.
It was further reported that
Gbajabiamila declined to take questions from journalists after the
meeting, saying that he was in a hurry “to see the chairman.”
Crisis
has engulfed the house since June 8 when Yakubu Dogara defeated
Gbajabiamila to become the speaker against the wishes of the majority of
APC reps.
