Instagram comedians are gradually becoming the new face of comedy in Nigeria.
Before the emergence of social media, Entertainers had to rely on print media and TV to showcase their craft.
But with Twitter, Facebook and of course Instagram, came new platforms where different people could showcase different talents and Vic O could torment us with his bars.
And while 2015 has been a great year for many Entertainers in Nigeria this year, we cannot help but notice the rise and rise of the comedians whose 15 seconds always make our day.

Emmah Oh My God
When I spoke with Emmah Oh My God on the phone a month ago, he made something clear from the very beginning; he had been doing this for a while. And even though Instagram was the platform through which he became popular, he’d been creating skits for a while.
The comedian who is the only Instagram comic who’s had his video RT’d by Chris Brown himself has also said that he’d always do the fun videos for his thousands of followers even when he becomes bigger than he currently is.
And with videos like Teletubbies in Ibadan, the Beyonce Single Ladies remake and Chris Brown in Ojuelegba, Emmah is hands down one of the biggest comedians making waves on Instagram.
No wonder big companies pay him for advert placements.
SLK
Like his buddie Emmah Oh My God, SLK had started the skits before steering in the Instagram direction. According to the popular Instagram comedian, he only started the Instagram skits this year even though he’d opened the account a year before.
After dropping his Dangote/Ice Prince video which went viral, SLK became one of the guys who people checked his handle constantly for comic relief. Even Dbanj sampled his skits on one of his tracks. And Timi Dakolo recognised him without any form of introduction when he ran into him in public.
Now you know you’re winning when even celebs become your fan.
And of course, you are well on your way to becoming a biggie in the industry.

Wofai
Probably the only popular female in the Instagram comedy business right now, Wofai seems to have found the secrets the guys in this business are using.
However, amazing as she might be at the craft, she revealed to me that when she did the first video, it was a joke. Like literally, she did not think it would be a big deal.
But then it went viral!
And something she randomly did shot her up the comedy ladder on the ‘gram, even getting her Don Jazzy’s attention and backing (the record label exec and super producer appeared in one of her videos). And now, she is making bank and cashing out. And, even got her Ebony Life TV gig as Emmah Oh My God’s co-host without trying too hard.
Do we have a future comedy queen or nah?
Looks to me like we do.
Craze Clown

With over half a million followers, this comedian has clearly found his place in the hearts of Instagram comedy lovers.
And because he already hosts his own shows here, we know he is on his way on becoming one of the biggest names in Comedy.

When Linda Ikeji bought her house, there were different reactions however the most popular reaction came from Comedian Ebiye.
After posting a clip of what it would be like to be the Blogger’s boo in her Banana Island mansion, the ‘gram went crazy over this guy.
And since then, we have refused to sleep on him. In fact, the motto is to stay woke!

Like the others, he has an alter ego that he uses to deliver his hilarious clips. Calling his alter ego Mama Tobi, the Instagram comedian has been able to become fan favorite via the popular social media platform.
And we know at least 79k people would part with tickets if this guy were to go live.

With his humor and his ability to make people laugh effortlessly, Chief Obi lands on our list of ten Instagram comedians that would take over the comedy scene in Nigeria.
