I Didn’t Want Pedro: Van Gaal Claims

After pursuing Pedro for over a month and finally losing out on him in the closing moments of the deal, Manchester United manager, Louis Van Gaal, in an attempt to save face has told the press that he lost interest in signing Pedro and that is what allowed Chelsea swoop in and sign him.
“The negotiations dragged on too long and we lost interest in the player as we decided to explore better options in the market.” Van Gaal told reporters after the winger completed a 30 million Euro move to
Chelsea. Manchester United chief executive, Ed Woodward has spent the night in Barcelona trying to ensure that Manchester United won the race to sign Pedro but Jose Mourinho and Chelsea made quick work of the deal for Pedro, and embarrassing Manchester United and Van Gaal in the process. Van Gaal is clearly trying to save face and his pursuit of Mane, who is not really in the class of Pedro is evidence of that.
Manchester United are still looking to bring in a few players before the end of the transfer window but after seeing Manchester City steal Otamendi right from under their nose and Pedro slip through their fingers and go to Chelsea, Woodward would do well to keep their next set of transfer moves a secret because you know, Arsenal have not made their own move yet.
