At 61, who would have thought that one of the most powerful black women in the world, Oprah Winfrey, is a proud and devout collector of NUDE ART!
The OWN network boss and media mogul is leaving Chicago and selling practically everything in her posh high-rise apartment in a big online auction next month.
You really want to know what Oprah doesn’t want anymore and want to auction off? Several nudes!!! Both paintings and drawings and which are worth thousands of dollars.
TMZ reported that, among them are a nude painting by Richard Edward Miller valued between $80,000 and $120,000, an Aristide Maillol nude painting apparently worth between $8,000 and $12,000, and Ellie Dogin nude statues that could probably fetch $10,000.
That’s not all, Oprah is also auctioning off a set of four framed nude male mythological figures worth between $800 and $1,200.
Oprah’s other unusual art specimens that
she’s selling include a golden lamb sculpture valued at about $2,000,
according to the news site....see the works below
There is also a weight set for around $500, a pen bearing Oprah’s name for $50, and many antiques such as an Edwardian Satinwood Pedestal desk.
These nudes and everything else will be put up for bid on April 25 by Leslie Hindman Auctioneers, and all proceeds will benefit the girls school that Oprah founded in South Africa.
The 550 items will be priced as low as $50 while others, of course, are valued as high as $120,000.
‘[Chicago has] been everything for me.
I’ve spent more hours in this building than I have any other building on
Earth,’ Oprah said, as quoted by The Hollywood Reporter.
‘We were here when there was nothing but
hoes and rats on the street, and now it’s one of the hottest
neighborhoods [in Chicago].’
The OWN network boss
added: ‘The time had come to downsize this part of the business and to
move forward. It will be sad to say goodbye, but I look ahead with such a
knowing that what the future holds is even more than I can see.’
Just a quick question, Which of these
properties/belongings would you love to have if you could attend the
auction? Feel free to sound off in the comments section.
